The Green Space Project is on the search for a group of AMAZING people who want to help out with the project! Take a look at the opportunities we have and APPLY TODAY!

General Information

 

To volunteer with The Green Space Project, you must:

  • Be in high school (grades 9-12) or be between the ages of 18-25 for senior roles

  • Be able to commit to 6-12 months

    • Meetings will be held ~once a month

    • Completion of tasks would require around 2-4 hours per week 

    • All meetings and tasks will be completed virtually/remotely via Zoom

  • Be passionate about being involved with taking action against Climate Change

  • Successfully complete an application and interview (No prior job/volunteer experience required but can be an asset)

Volunteer Hours & References

 

The Green Space Project will provide volunteers with hours that can count towards the 40-hour graduation requirement. Hours will be determined based on attendance for meetings and completion of tasks.

 

As a successful member, TGSP can offer references for other opportunities you pursue such as for job and post-secondary applications after completing your time for the project.

Roles You Can Apply For

Social Media Manager (1 Spot)

 

​This role will focus on managing TGSPs social media accounts (Twitter and Instagram). Tasks will include:

  • Keeping each of these accounts updated (e.g. posting content designed by the graphics team, tweeting about project development, etc.)

  • Replying/answering DMs sent through these accounts

  • Being involved with content development for the project's brand

Graphic Designer (2 Spots)

 

​This role will focus on creating social media posts and marketing materials. Tasks will include:

  • Working alongside the Social Media Manager coordinating when content needs to be designed and posted

  • Using your creativity to amplify the project's brand by developing unique and fresh content 

Experience with Canva is recommended but not required (basic training will be provided using the program)

Workshop Developer -
Senior Role (3 Spots)

 

​This role will focus on developing workshops for TGSP that would be hosted for high schools. Tasks will include:

  • Creating the necessary components for each of the workshops (e.g. slides, activities, scripts, etc.)

  • Researching material that can be implemented in the workshops + working alongside the Resource Kit Developers to create accompanying materials

  • Developing workshops that are informative yet creative and engaging for high school students

Application Information for Junior Roles

 

  1. Applications for the Social Media Manager and Graphic Designer roles will be accepted on a rolling basis until Monday, November 1st, 2021, at 11:59 pm EST.

  2. You will be contacted for an interview within 1-2 business if your application meets the criteria for the role(s) you've applied for.

  3. If your interview is a success, you will be contacted to join the orientation event, where you will get to know more about the project, meet other members and finalize tasks to complete.

Application Information for Senior Roles

 

  1. Applications for the Workshop and Resource Kit Developer roles will be accepted on a rolling basis until Friday, November 5th, 2021, at 11:59 pm EST.

  2. You will be contacted for an interview within 1-2 business if your application meets the criteria for the role(s) you've applied for.

  3. If your interview is a success, you will be contacted to join the orientation event where you will get to know more about the project, meet other members and finalize tasks to complete.

Resource Kit Developer -
Senior Role (3 Spots)

 

​This role will focus on developing resource kits that would be distributed to high schools. Tasks will include:

  • Developing a variety of materials that will be distributed to high schools (e.g. templates for budgets/schedules, case studies, info sheets, etc.)

  • Researching material that can be implemented in the resource kits + working alongside the Workshop Developers to create accompanying materials for the workshops
